Smith & Wesson Model 41 - #A440001 .22LR
Dating to 1977, this one is a relatively early example with an "A" prefix serial number (A440001), 5.5" heavy barrel, nice walnut stocks, and the desirable cocking indicator
(discontinued 1978). It shows little use and excellent care. Basically, but for a little sharp edge wear on the top left of the slide it presents as new.
For some reason the lights and camera have exaggerated the slight sharp edge wear. Let me tell you that the edge wear on the top left of the slide looks
far worse in the photographs than in hand. It's hardly noticeable in hand. I don't know why photos can be so harsh.
The bore is perfect. The pistol functions flawlessly. The walnut grips are unblemished. It's clean, well kept, and ready to go. It would be hard to find
a nicer "A" series M41 with cocking indicator.
